Status of USMA Library Digital Transition: Home

Project Description

The USMA Library has exciting news to share! We are upgrading the systems that you are used to using online to search for books, articles, and manage your library account. We are also in the process of updating our website. While these upgrades are ongoing, we will keep you up to date on what changes to expect as well as any limitations and what the impact will be to you. We ask for your patience while the website and underlying systems are in flux.

What's changing?

Many of you will notice changes to Scout, the library’s discovery interface. The USMA Library has updated the system for searching and discovery. This updated tool contains a wealth of scholarly content that is harmonized with fast and intuitive discovery. You can search books, eBooks, articles, journals, videos and more, all in one place. You can also renew materials you have checked out, create and save research lists, create and manage research alerts, order items through interlibrary loan, and allow you to discover information on-the-go from any device.

Trial Configuration: This is the initial version of the search interface. Please let us know what you like or don't like. You can leave feedback in the form in the box below.

Library Accounts

  • You do not need to sign in to use this system.
  • users are authenticated through your O365 credentials, allowing single sign-on for your library account instead of needing a separate account.
  • Users without accounts will need to come to the USMA Library to create a username and password.
  • What does the account give you? View current items checked out, requests, renewals, personalize search results, create RSS feeds, create email alerts, save records and save search queries.

  • ConnectNY is working again and should be the first place to go to request a book that the USMA Library does not have.
  • To get items from other libraries that are not available through ConnectNY, request those items through ILLiad. We are doing traditional inter-library loan and also have expedited service available from the Library of Congress to get you the materials you need.

Off-post Access

  • Licensed content can be accessed by logging in using your O365 account.
